BIT CRUSHERS

New York City, USA – Fate would have it one evening in 2006 that big room heavyweight Gaby Dershin (Astro&Glyde - Bedrock), cornerstone of the city’s classic Sunday Sessions at Le Souk, was introduced to NYC all-star DJ and tenured resident from the legendary Sullivan Room, Amos Damon (DJ Fame – Dubsided). The two quickly found their way into the studio at the intersection of Amos’ bouncy tech-house soundtrack and Gaby’s lust for head-boppin’ Ibiza buzz bass. Almost at will the newly formed Bit Crushers began mixing up street-wise beats on the sly at Dershin’s Lower East Side studio united by a singular vision – the dance floor experience. So it came as little surprise when their productions began receiving acclaim from top jocks worldwide.

In 2007 Bit Crushers made their presence felt on the world stage with the widely received summer anthem “Love Takes So Long” featuring Hadley. On the strength of last year’s success, their latest offerings have been treated to stealthy reworks from Oliver Giacomotto, Alex Kenji, Medway and Oliver Molden. They return in 2008 to sport a chart busting sophomore effort from Seven Limited and Omnis Recordings with “Wanna Ride” featuring Kovas (45 on Balance Record Pool) and “Movin’ to Fast” (11 on Balance Record Pool) with Hadley again lending her signature voice. Bit Crushers have also been spotted on the Essential Mix, Digweed Radio and have recently seen action on the Toolroom Knights compilation by Tom Novy and “Love Takes So Long” remixer Wally Lopez. New York’s Quarterlife Recordings serves “Up in Yo Face” in April and, fresh off the vinyl press from Holland’s Little Mountain Recordings is the club-hop anthem “Time to Werk” featuring Medusa Fire - rumored to be a personal favorite of label chief Sander Kleinenberg.
